CCCS-OC "Lives United" with OC United Way

CCCS-OC is very pleased to be a strong partner of the local United Way, supporting its mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of Orange County to strengthen our community. Our goal to help consumers achieve financial stability through education and counseling contributes directly to United Way's efforts to create pathways to self-sufficiency for local families.

We work closely with Orange County United Way (OCUW) on a wide range of vibrant, effective programs to enhance local quality of life, including:
  • One-on-one counseling at the SparkPoint OC Financial Empowerment Centers, where hard-working, low-income families can access a full range of free services to create an individualized, step-by-step plan to increase income, manage credit and build assets

  • Financial literacy education via OCUW grant funding, in the areas of managing finances, establishing and improving credit, and locating, securing and maintaining stable rental housing and homeownership

  • Access to free tax filing through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) certified staff as well as through a web-based module with our Community Tax Days campaign for low- to moderate-income taxpayers

  • Bank on Orange County expansion program to transition unbanked and under-banked families into the financial mainstream in English, Spanish and Vietnamese; teaching these families the importance of credit and establishing a relationship with a financial institution

  • Partnership with the Orange County Financial Stability Alliance, coordinating increased financial literacy efforts and leveraging resources with community partners that provide direct services in the areas of education, income, health and pre-purchase housing

  • Support for WALK UNITED, OCUW's annual fundraiser to overcome poverty, by rallying together at the event to restore hope with our actions and bring neighbors and resources together to raise funds and awareness
We are proud to "Live United" with Orange County United Way in a partnership that benefits us all!
