Keenan Pharmacy Care Management Program (KPCM)

KPCM offers KPPC clients an additional layer of pharmacy benefit management by engaging physicians and members directly to ensure that the best possible drug therapies are chosen, based on their clinical effectiveness and overall cost to patients and the plan.

The program is designed specifically to enhance a member's current pharmacy benefit plan and provide ways to improve quality of care. KPCM reviews pharmacy claims data to analyze the appropriateness of prescriptions. Based on this analysis, KPCM may contact a member's physician to recommend an alternative prescription. In most cases, KPCM's recommendation will help reduce a member's out of pocket costs for prescription medication. The goal is to present members with the right drug for the right price, while keeping drug interactions and safety a top priority. This involves regular communications with member's doctors, to ensure the correct drug at the right dose is provided. KPCM does not involve any changes to a member's current benefit design. It is educational and supportive in nature and is for the benefit of ALL members.
