CCCS-OC Celebrates 45 Years
Receives Certificate of Congressional Recognition

On May 3, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Orange County celebrated its 45th anniversary and its strong relationships with local businesses. The event was attended by a cross-section of the community assembled for some great food, music, speakers and networking.

Guest speakers were U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and Lucy Dunn, President/CEO of the Orange County Business Council. Congresswoman Sanchez spoke about both her concerns and her overriding optimism regarding the state of the Orange County economy. And she emphasized the important role CCCS-OC plays in helping individuals and families maintain financial solvency and their contributions to the economy. Dunn outlined the council's key priorities in terms of quality of life and economic progress for the county, with the business community at the vanguard of those efforts.

A special highlight of the evening were two heartfelt testimonials from CCCS-OC clients who had faced major financial challenges and were able to surmount them with help from the organization's expert counselors.

Orange County Great Park Gets Solar Decathlon
Competition Highlights Solar-Powered Homes

There's big news for Orange County and The Great Park, as the Solar Decathlon sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy heads to Irvine. The competition features 20 college teams showcasing solar-powered houses and comes to Orange County from Washington D.C., its home since 2002.

KCOMM will be helping the Solar Decathlon forge new relationships with businesses, sponsors and donors in the coming months. We are thrilled that the DOE has selected Orange County as its new site and look forward to bringing our valued partners and clients to such a venue.

The exposition will showcase technology, products, arts, education and business opportunities that arise from clean and renewable energy generation and efficient energy use. It's anticipated to be a great economic boost for Orange County!
