Welcome,

Our "Education Solutions 2010" hosted by Insight Schools and held at Chapman University's Argyros School of Business and Economics surpassed our expectations.

In her keynote presentation, Congresswoman Sanchez, the keynote presenter and honoree outlined of challenges facing public education on the local, state and national levels. She also received an award from the YMCA Youth & Government program in recognition of her exemplary commitment to education issues. A distinguished panel of experts from education, government and youth services addressed the crisis and offered a number of valuable observations and recommendations. An exhibit area showcased local companies and organizations with a commitment to supporting education.

Among the issues discussed during the evening were limitations of the No Child Left Behind program, the vital importance of parental involvement, the education level within the household, development of values like respect and hard work, increased flexibility in how state funding is utilized at the local level, the fundamental role of the teacher, increased choice in the types of schools and education programs provided, the wide variability between schools and the need to adapt standards to that reality, and the need to leverage technology for improved efficiencies and enhanced learning.

The event was streamed live over the Internet. We invite you to click here to view the archive.

In addition, to maintain momentum on addressing these issues, post-event exchange of ideas and solutions will be hosted at www.facebook.com/educationsolutions.

Sincerely,
