Ireland 2013 Delegation: Cultural, Business and Government Connections

The Internet Marketing Association recently hosted its inaugural international delegation trip to Dublin, Ireland. Members had an opportunity to experience the government, business, social and cultural aspects of that vibrant country. Delegates represented top companies including Microsoft, Adobe, Bellagio Resort and Ernst & Young.

The trip included a meeting with the EMEA head at Facebook Inc., afternoon tea with the Lord Mayor of Dublin as well as a pivotal meeting with Minister Richard Bruton and the Industrial Development Agency leadership which was very productive. There is also great interest in bringing the IMA certification program (Certified Internet Marketer, CIM) to Ireland in partnership with one or more of the leading universities to help grow digital marketing education in the region.

During the meeting with Bruton, IMA leaders discussed important ways Europe and the United States can work together on establishing common standards for Internet marketing.
