The Internet Marketing Association has continued to grow since 2001 with over 330,000 members today.

Individual members of the IMA come from 14 countries, predominantly the United States. And members represent companies like Coca Cola, Kingston Technology, IBM and other Fortune 500 companies. Members also come from small to mid-sized organizations that are looking to compete and grow.

There is no cost for membership in the Internet Marketing Association. Our guidelines require applicants to have a college equivalent education and a career related to the Internet marketing industry in positions including sales, marketing, business ownership, programming, creative development and other related fields. Our organization is underwritten by corporate partners to provide members an opportunity to learn, engage and define Internet marketing best practices without making a financial commitment.

The Internet Marketing Association's second annual Internet marketing awards program will again spotlight top industry work. An IMA award embodies significant recognition of individuals and teams for outstanding accomplishments in Internet marketing.

Submissions for the 2011 IMA Awards will be accepted from March 1 through August 22, with the gala awards ceremony held at CityCenter in Las Vegas on September 22, 2011. Special guest speakers will be announced in August.

Keeping Customers Loyal with Targeted Email
Loyalty programs more effective than average


Email marketers have big incentives to improve the relevancy of their campaigns. Not only are they interested in increasing their own success metrics, but there is also the chance that mailings that don't interest recipients could eventually push them to unsubscribe.

ExactTarget and CoTweet released research in February indicating that nine in 10 email subscribers have later opted out of permission emails, mostly because they came too frequently or became repetitive or boring.
