CDS is Gold Sponsor of 1100 Federal Data Center Event Presented by NetApp and MeriTalk
CDS is a gold sponsor of "1100 - How Many Federal Data Centers Does it Take," taking place May 20 at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington, DC. Presented by MeriTalk and NetApp, the 1100 event brings together government IT officials and encourages critical collaboration on data center consolidation. IT leaders and federal systems integrators will engage in dialogue on how the federal government can move toward rationalizing its data center operations, meet the challenges and deadlines outlined in the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative, and leverage best practices across the public and private sectors.
Estimates on the actual number of federal data centers seem to grow each day - 932; 1,100; 1,200+... how many data centers does it take? President Obama's FY11 federal budget request outlined data center consolidation as a key tenet of the new federal IT strategy. The new Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative, announced February 26th from the Federal CIO's office, outlines the process and deadlines for driving agency data center consolidation forward.
The 1100 event takes place Thursday, May 20 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information, please visit http://www.meritalk.com/1100.php
