Triumphs and Challenges Faced at Annual Meeting

CCCS-OC's Annual Meeting was held April 24th, 2014 at the Argyros Forum at Chapman University with many esteemed guests from our nonprofit and corporate partners in attendance. President/CEO Cheryl Borden gave an insightful and comprehensive look at the triumphs and challenges of 2013:
  • Nearly 12,000 attendees at education workshops - an increase of 7% over 2012
  • Over 1200 active Debt Management Plan (DMP) clients who repaid nearly $9 million to their creditors with 95% on-time payment performance
  • 227 DMP graduates becoming completely DEBT FREE!
  • Nearly 5000 one-on-one counseling sessions complete
  • Many community events, including 4 free tax filing assistance days, 2 shred-it days, a huge signature event, and a board retreat
  • Over 400 hours employee continuing education
  • Over 70 client and employee satisfaction surveys with 85% full satisfaction ratings
  • Many community awards and recognition, including the Estrella award for service to the Hispanic community and many congressional recognition awards
  • Meeting with Consumer Financial Protection Board Director Richard Cordray in Washington, DC
  • Lobby and office refurbishment on a very tight budget
We thanked outgoing Board of Directors Chair Robert Reyes, Branch Manager at Broadview Mortgage, for his leadership and priceless contributions to the organization. In addition, we welcomed new Board Chair and longtime advocate of the organization Dr. Donald Booth, Professor of Economics at Chapman University.
