Free Workshops and Tax Filing Service
With financial literacy month coming up in April, have you attended any financial literacy workshops this year? How are your financial New Year's resolutions coming along? CCCS-OC provides an array of financial literacy workshops, from basic through advanced, and other services. Here are some highlights:
Money in Marriage Workshop
Mon., Mar. 25, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
It is critical for couples to work together in maintaining the financial responsibilities of a household. This workshop will provide the tools necessary to find common ground in budgeting and making decisions related to finances.
Homebuyer Certification Workshop
Sat., Mar. 2, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This workshop will provide pre-purchase information on shopping for lenders, learning to budget for housing expenses, and understanding credit reports and scores. Participants will receive a certificate of completion recognized by many First Time Home Buyer and Long-Term Homebuyer programs.

Tax Filing Service
Taxpayers earning less than $57,000 annually can file their taxes for free using www.myfreetaxes.com/CCCSOConline. Taxpayers who earn less than $50,270 can access the free service and also be eligible to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), as well as other eligible credits. As of January 30, 2013, 112 taxpayers have used this service to file their taxes and saved an estimated $23,520 in tax filing fees. Click here to access this important service.
