Independent Foreclosure Program Deadline Is December 31 The Independent Foreclosure Review program was put into place by the federal government to help homeowners who may have been hurt by the foreclosure process. If your primary residence entered foreclosure in 2009 or 2010, even if foreclosure was not completed, you may be entitled to remedies as a result of errors or other problems. The program is free, so no one should be paid to help obtain this review or the compensation you may be entitled to. In order to apply, you must complete the entire form online in one session or have a Request for Review form preprinted with your personal information. If you did not receive one in the mail, you can request one on the program's website. If you elect to use the form, it must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2012.
