Back to school time is just around the corner. Families are busy preparing themselves and their children for the annual scramble to gather schedules, paperwork, new clothes and school supplies. In all the hubbub, it's easy to lose track of how much money is being spent during this very busy period. But it's also a great opportunity to practice sound personal financial management. It means taking inventory of what's really needed, planning purchases ahead of time, and tracking expenditures. And that can be a wonderful lesson for children to observe as well. We encourage families to manage their back-to-school spending carefully and remember that we are here whenever the situation becomes overwhelming or a little "education" could come in handy.
