Far Right: Incoming National Hispanic Business Women Association (NHBWA) President Sahara Garcia
Education Director Tapped to Lead National Association

Sahara Garcia, CCCS-OC Director of Education, has been appointed President-Elect of the National Hispanic Business Women Association (NHBWA). Established in Orange County, California, in 1997, the organization's mission is to encourage women to develop their business and professional endeavors by promoting business growth through education, mutual support, the sharing of information, business referrals and networking.

"I am honored to be elected as the incoming NHBWA President. NHBWA has had excellent leadership, and I am on a mission to continue that legacy," said Garcia. "My focus with NHBWA will be to establish and enhance community partnerships, leverage resources and promote the already dynamic service delivery of the organization."

The announcement was made during the 12th Annual Business Women of the Year Awards and Scholarship Dinner on May 24. Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez officiated for the swearing-in ceremony of the 2012-2013 NHBWA board of directors with over 200 guests present.

Since its inception, NHBWA has awarded 108 educational scholarships to deserving students. This achievement has been possible thanks to the support of members, corporate sponsors and donors.
